Cycling Center is a mixed use residential project focused on providing convenient housing for the biker commuters of downtown Nashville. The site is located in Metrocenter, with direct access to an already existing greenway that goes right into downtown. There are retail spaces on the ground level, a grocery store on the second level, and a bike shop on the third level in order to minimize the amount of driving the residents would have to do, although there is still some parking on site for those who would like easier access to their vehicles other than the large parking garage located at one end of the masterplan.
Going through the entire building is a circular covered opening with a ramp for vertical circulation of bikers and pedestrians, as well as fire stairs for pedestrian only circulation and oversized elevators for both. Beginning at level three with the greenway bridge, there is a more meandering pathway that connects all of the upper level primary programs, from the bike shop to the residential lobby, up connecting to the café and adjacent double height gym, a residential community space, and ending at the rooftop bar and event space in a connection to the central ramp and the green roof.
